“My name is Mrs. Shannon and I am super excited to be at Riverbend Christian Preschool!

I've been married for 33 years and am the proud parent of 2 children. My latest role is being "Mimi" to 2 grandchildren! My grandson attended RCP and I came to know and love the program! I love to read, decorate, garden, and spend time with my family in my spare time.

I've been in the early childhood education field for 20 years and it is my true passion. I am grateful to be able to teach your little one about Jesus and watch them learn and grow throughout the year. It is important to me that your child always feels safe, happy and loved in our classroom.

I can't wait to meet all of you and your children. Preschool is going to be a wonderful time full of fun and adventures!"

“I got my bachelor’s degree of International Business in China and worked at a national telecommunications company for many years. After I immigrated to Canada, I raised four children and found my passion in early childhood education. I have been working in this field for almost 4 years. I have worked at YMCA Riverbend and other childcare centres in the area. All of my experiences have given me the chance to understand children deeply, help them self-regulate, and build their self-esteem.

Outside of work I volunteer as the teacher in the Mandarin class and Sunday school at my church, ERBC. I’m also a worship team leader at my church as I like to sing and speak. I hope to contribute my passion and teamwork to our RCP team so that we can provide your child a safe, caring, and healthy environment to grow up in.”

Naomi Begoray, Administrator

I am a graduate of the University of Alberta and used to work as a librarian. I have my level 1 Early Childhood Educator certificate and am busy working behind the scenes to ensure that RCP runs smoothly throughout the school year!

My husband and I have one son who attended RCP. I volunteer at my son’s school and at my church (I am a member of Riverbend Lutheran) and I love to read (both on my own and with my boy), watch my son play hockey and spend time outside being active with my family.

Our Teachers

As a licensed child care facility, our teachers are Government certified Early Childhood Educators committed to quality education. They maintain current criminal record checks with vulnerable sector searches, and first aid training certification.

Our Educators have a committed Christian faith, and demonstrate Christian values and the law and gospel message. They exhibit a disposition of love and respect for children and their families.

Our dedicated Educators are required to pursue ongoing Professional Development, to remain well-educated and equipped in the field of early childhood education and development.
